Has taken us all over the place on many adventures in all climates, and is probably the most reliable vehicle we’ve ever owned – we are the 2nd owners, and have had it for 6+ years. The air con blows ice cold, the dash is trustworthy, the mileage has not been skewed by oversized wheels or tyres, and it will faithfully go towards whichever adventure you point it. We know every inch of this van like the back of our hand and are keen to pass this knowledge on to the next owners. With good maintenance, we would happily see this van do another 150k + miles in our family, but a growing number of us means we can’t delay the inevitable any longer and simply need something larger.

Has been converted and had preventative maintenance / restoration done over 6+ years with a view to making it the most reliable (and adaptable) adventure van we could. For the sake of ease of maintenance we have carefully chosen what to change, and what to leave. Potential buyers with slight OCD like ourselves will no doubt be to happy to see that this van has not been turned into a colander or a DIY sikaflex mess, giving some reassurance that any changes made in future are being done on a solid base.

Work done

Thousands spent on paintwork and body through conversion. Has had all the big jobs done (either before our ownership by VW or during our ownership by trusted independents who know these vans inside out) i.e. cambelt and water pump, EGR valve, wheel bearings, handbrake cable etc.

MOT until October 2023, minor advisories on last MOT rectified with invoices- Cambelt & Waterpump done August 2022 – Air Con re-gas, new rear discs and pads May 2023 – Service and wheel bearing changed June 2023- Lots of other service receipts, preventative maintenance etc. meaning amazing mechanical condition – Thousands spent on paintwork and detailing to get to amazing standard- Some superficial signs of age in areas that are prone to this on the T5.1 (plastic side door step could do with replacing – but these take a lot of abuse so we haven’t bothered, door handles have seen lots of use etc.)

Brand new black OEM VW steel wheels- Off road swamper style wheel arch and side trim (from Stitches and Steel – removable if desired) – Fully insulated and carpeted, Privacy tinted side windows (driver side sliding window) conversion by Volks-A-Van – Two tone wrap in Ice Grey by WC Wraps – Nokian Rotiiva AT M+S tyres (50% worn) which have consistently surprised us as to their performance and longevity having got us up and down some quite rough and very steep roads and tracks all over Europe in all seasons – Transporter HQ side bars –

Interior

Conversion by Volks-A-Van. Kitchen pod in Suede Blue with Matching folding table by EvoMotion – 3/4 full-length pull out rock and roll bed fitted by Rusty Lee with gas struts, two seat belts- Black hexagrip floor with load lashings – Stitches + Steel North Seas Neoprene seat covers with storage backs – Stitches + Steel Door store sliding door storage pocket – Transporter HQ LED brake lights with day-time running function- Van-x full width rear door step cover – Dimmable ceiling mounted soft white LED light strip with Bixby controller.

As our usage did not dictate them being necessary, there is no water system or leisure battery installed currently, however there is room to do so for the new owner. All of the key interior carpet panels are easily removable with hidden fixings for this purpose.
