Really happy to share with you guys how to fit our new bed guards for Euro spec Westfalia Jokers etc. We have been field testing this design over the last two years and we are happy to say we have got there. Using the original factory pegs you can fit our bed guards in a few minutes without any extra drilling for that factory feel just how Westfalia would have wanted it. We have them for sale on our web shop for about half of the price other vendors who are selling a similar product that requires loads of extra messing about and drilling. Ours are available in Grey, and unique to CampervanCulture.com they are also available in Brown that only take a few minutes to fit.
We use these ourselves as they are a CampervanCulture.com product.
When we set off on a CampervanCulture.com road trip we never really plan where we will end up or even head to on most occasions. Between the three of us we have built up quite a large list of cool places to stay as well as a bigger list of places we have been told about or have listed while passing on previous trips. Every video we have made never has a pre planned story board and we rely on random things that happen that you could never have found unless they were random.
This latest short trip was as full of randomness as usual but when we found loads of fossils, hung out with a massive group of Saxons, found a village that had been taken over by the army in WWII and has only been open to visit relatively recently and lots of it remains the same as it did back then, then bumped into CampervanCulture.com subscriber Tom and his amazing family in their Syncro Club Joker and we all camped out together in an epic camp spot, we had a random overload. It makes for a good video and we hope you guys like it and comment.
This time while Jake was out in his campervan setting out markers for a cancer charity event making full use of the 4WD that the VW Syncro has Jed took a more gentle approach to the weekend. It was another case of heading out and not really knowing where you will end up but they usually end up being the best weekends away.
If you like relaxing, free camping right on a beach, free mackerel, country pubs that are hundreds of years old, ancient villages that all the buildings have either stone or thatched roofs, out doors cooking then this is the video for you…
We didnt really know what to expect as we did very little research about the place but we do thank Doug and Elvis for giving some top tips on places to visit. You have to love a country who”s national sport isnt football or rugby but rock climbing and hiking, my kind of people. Most people spoke really good english, no litter of graffiti anywhere and an all round awesome place. Before you watch the video I am just going to say NO LOUISE DIDNT STEAL THAT REALLY hehehehehe…. We bought the item in question a few days earlier as we thought we had bought a device for repelling insects, but it turned out we bought a device for mourning the dead…. Wonder why we were getting strange looks in the evening and nobody would talk to us. What the hell am I on about? you will have to watch the video and see….
Part three takes us further down Croatia and to Pag Island. We did plan on staying abit longer than we did on Pag but with temperatures inside the van reaching over 49*C we had to spend lots of time in the sea and drink cold beers to stay cool, bummer hey!!!!
Here is a set of videos from a tour of Europe in our Westfalia Syncro. Basically it involved touring from the UK all the way down to Croatia and back taking in nine countries entered and exited a number of times.
In total 4851km where driven and two mechanical issues, so how did we get on traveling with a 5 year old?, where did we camp?, you will have to watch the videos to find out….
This summer Jed and his family were plagued by aggressive wasps on the tour they did of europe. With temperatures logged above 45*c driving around with the windows wound up was to prove a bloody pain in the backside so we have tried these nifty wind deflectors out. This way you can drive around without sucking the nasty wasps in or letting loads of rain in when driving in the rain with the windows down kind of a poor mans air con system. They are a good price and if you are in the UK you can buy them here, or if your from outside the UK do like it says in the Video and email JP mentioning Campervanculture and they will get back to you with a reasonable world wide shipping cost.
Personally I would have been chuffed if they were bought for me for my birthday or at Xmas and at only £30 per set what self respecting camper van owner wouldn’t? They do them for a wide range of other vehicles too as well as acrylic head light protectors, T4 and T5 bumper protectors, rear spoilers….
While camping in a forest recently I got to thinking about when people say, “We couldn’t do Wild Camping” On that note I put together a short video to explain what Wild Camping means to us as a family.
