The Westfalia Poptop is great, offers so much accommodation space when you park and pop up but if you have anything loaded on a roof rack or roof bars on top of your pop top such as a Canoe, Surfboards or a large solar panel it can be difficult getting the pop top up into position due to the additional weight.
The kit comes in two different forms, ‘Standard and Heavy Duty’ so no matter what you load you have on your roof there’s a kit for you.
The light weight kit. This kit is if you just need a little extra help lifting that roof. Pop the catch and with a very gently push of the H bar up that roof goes.
The standard kit. This kit is rated to lift your roof if you have a roof rack fitted and  tend to carry a bit more load, lightweight surfboards, ridged solar panels and that kind of thing…
The heavy duty kit. This kit should only be used if you always have a load on the roof otherwise it will make it very hard to close the roof, that said once the kit is fitted the gas struts can be removed in seconds. Better suited for sit on kayaks, cargo carrying etc..
The kit is very easy to install, you only need to drill 2 holes, both in the fiberglass, one on each side of the pop top. The detailed instructions make it easy to find the right location for the holes.
– Easy fitting using existing pop top hinge mountings and just two holes drilled into your pop top.
