Description
This is a direct replacement for the standard VW dash bulbs. Use’s a fraction of the power of an original bulb (0.2W) and as such generates practically no heat whatsoever.
Direct replacements for the standard bulbs in the T3/T25/Vanagon dash binnacle.
These will fit Speedo, Rev counter, Clock, and Digital Clock in all T3/T25 Transporters.
These also fit the diff lock illumination panel in a T3/T25 Syncro.
Beam Pattern – 120 degree
Output – 6 Lumen
Power Consumption – 0.2 Watts
Operating Voltage – 9~14.8 VDC
These LED’s are polarity sensitive, they need to be in the correct orientation otherwise they won’t work. You can’t short them, so if at first they don’t work, twist 180degrees and reinstall.
How many bulbs do I need?
Dash Binnacle:
Standard dash with speedo and clock requires 3x LED’s
Rev counter dash with digital clock requires 4x LED’s
Syncro difflock panel:
Rear difflock only requires 2x LED’s
Front and rear difflock requires 3x LED’s
Front and rear difflock with decoupler requires 4x LED’s

Such a cheap upgrade that makes such a big difference it’s hard to see why anyone WOULDN’T want to buy these.

Cheap and simple upgrade.
On my 1982 T25, the old bulbs were readily accessible after just taking off the (usual loose-fitting) dash instrument cover. I had to re-fit one of the bulbs as I had the polarity wrong but only took five minutes to re-do that one.
I can actually see the speedo in the dark now and the illumination is very clear – whilst not being distracting. With the headlight upgrade (the additional relay loom – as opposed to the LED variety) too, it is now fairly obvious if you have left your lights on, which is no doubt going to save my bacon at least once.
The only downside is being reminded in the dark that the second instrument (that I guess is supposed to be a clock) is nothing at all.
Definitely worth the money and the small amount of time to fit.
