To be blunt, the stock VW T25 T3 Vanagon brakes are barely adequate if you have a 2WD tin top passenger van with stock tires, good pads, and shoes. But what if you have a gear loaded Westfalia with upgraded wheels and tires, your stock brakes are just plain unsafe. Especially for emergency stops!
