Morocco, Round Two — Why We’re Hitting the Road Again

👉 Announcement time.

Thirteen years ago — long before van travel filled YouTube feeds — we had a wild idea.

What if we drove a VW camper from the UK all the way to Morocco… and kept going?
Across rough roads, into remote places, and even out towards the Sahara Desert.

Back then, it felt huge. There was barely any information online, van travel content was almost non-existent, and Google Maps didn’t even properly cover Morocco. Campervan Culture wasn’t a business — it was just a camera, a van, and a belief that documenting real overland travel might be worth something one day.

That original trip changed everything.

The video series put CVC on the global map and introduced us to a worldwide community of van travellers. More importantly, it planted the seed for what Campervan Culture would eventually become — a place where real travel experience shapes the products we design, sell and trust.

So now, over a decade later, it feels only right to return.

And we’re doing it in the very same van that started it all.

Why Morocco? Why Now?

This winter, Jed is heading back to Morocco to film a brand-new travel series — revisiting the routes, landscapes and challenges that helped define CVC from the very beginning.

This time, he won’t be travelling alone. Joining the trip is long-time friend and fellow adventurer Mark Fallon of Those Trucking Celts, coming along as cameraman — which means better footage, deeper storytelling, and a lot more gravel getting properly documented.

These trips aren’t holidays. They’re how we test ideas, refine products, and make sure the gear we sell actually holds up when it matters — far from workshops, couriers and easy fixes.

It’s always been that way.

Important Shop Update

To make this trip possible, the CVC web shop will close on Friday 19th December and remain closed throughout January, reopening in early February.

  • Dispatch will be paused while we’re away

  • Customer support will be limited during this time

We know closures aren’t ideal — but this time on the road is a big part of what allows us to keep improving what we offer when we’re back.

See You on the Road?

We’re keen to meet some of you along the way — so if our paths might cross over the coming weeks, give us a shout.

And if you’re following along from home, keep an eye out for:

  • New travel films

  • Behind-the-scenes updates

  • And the next chapter in a story that started over a decade ago

Morocco, round two.
Same van. Same spirit. New stories.

Get some gravel in your travel.
