We are back out on the road this year but this time in our 4×4 Westfalia Syncro. For those who watched last years Great Escape series you will have seen us driving through Spain and Portugal in our lifted 2WD van. That trip was amazing and the 2WD did a great job getting us to some remote locations but we left hungry for more.

This time we wanted to go further, drive more of the off road opportunities that the 2WD couldn’t quite manage . Having 4WD, front and rear diff locks and a TDI engine has given us that confidence to go further, mainly driving solo with no external support. Our Syncro was fully rebuilt and this is the first long trip out in many years so jump in the passenger seat with us as we push things a little and fix the first snags that showed up the moment we started to push things a little. We even managed to turn up at the north of Spain’s most popular VW T3 meet and had a great time making new friends.

I venture to some really out of the way places in the north of Spain while heading inland and crossing the boarder into Portugal. I even managed to meet up with CJ and Lance from Project Amber fame. Check out the Project Amber YouTube channel and get inspired.
